டிட்வா புயல் (Cyclone Ditva) இலங்கையை விட்டு வெளியேறினாலும் அது விட்டுச்சென்ற தடங்களும் கற்றுக்கொடுத்த பாடங்களும் என்றும் அழியாது. அனேகமாக இலங்கையில் இவ்வாறான இயற்கை அனர்த்தங்கள் ஏற்படும் போது அனேகமாக நாட்டின் ஒரு பகுதியோ அல்லது கரையோரப்பகுதியோ மாத்திரமே பாதிப்பிற்குள்ளாகும். ஆனால் இந்த டிட்வா புயல் இலங்கை முழுவதுமாக புரட்டிப்போட்டுவிட்டது. 31 வருடங்களிற்கு பின்னர் மலைநாட்டில் நுவரெலியாவிலும் வெள்ளம் ஏற்பட்டிருக்கின்றமையும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

உடமைகள் மற்றும் வாகனங்களை இழந்தவர்கள், வெள்ளத்தில் அடித்துச்செல்லப்பட்டவர்கள், வெள்ளத்தினால் போக்குவரத்து தடை ஏற்பட்டு காணாமல் போனவர்கள் மாத்திரமின்றி, மின்சாரம், குடிநீர் என அனைத்து அடிப்படை வசதிகளும் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையே தற்போது இலங்கையில் உருவாகியுள்ளது.

அன்றாடம் தொழில் செய்து வந்த பலரின் வாழ்வாதாரம் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தாலும் அரசாங்கம் அவசரகால நிவாரணத்தை உரிய முறையில் வழங்கிக்கொண்டிருப்பதுடன் ஏனைய தன்னார்வ நிறுவனங்களும் தங்களால் முடிந்தளவு எமது மக்களுக்கான உதவிகளை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர். அந்த வகையில் எமது விவேகானந்த சமுதாய அறக்கட்டளையின் பல செயற்பாடுகளுக்கு என்றும் உறுதுணையாக உதவிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் அன்பு உள்ளங்கள் இவ்வாறான திடீர் அனர்த்தங்களிலும் எம் மக்களுக்கான உதவிகளை வழங்கிக்கொண்டிருப்பதற்கு நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கின்றோம்.

இவ்வாறான நிலமைகளில், டித்வா புயல் மற்றும் வெள்ள அனர்த்தத்தினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள மற்றும் இடம்பெயர்ந்துள்ள மக்களுக்கான அனர்த்த நிவாரணப் சேவையில் நீங்களும் எம்முடன் இணைந்துகொள்ளலாம்.

விவேகானந்த சமுதாய அறக்கட்டளை

Even though Cyclone Ditva has moved away from Sri Lanka, the marks it left behind and the lessons it taught will never disappear. Usually, when natural disasters occur in Sri Lanka, they affect only certain regions or coastal areas. However, Cyclone Ditva has impacted the entire country. It is also noteworthy that after 31 years, floods have occurred in the hill country, including Nuwara Eliya.

Many people have lost their homes and vehicles, some have been swept away by floods, and transport has been disrupted. Basic services such as electricity and drinking water have also been severely affected across the country.

Although the livelihoods of many daily wage earners have been disrupted, the government has been providing emergency relief appropriately, and other volunteer organizations are assisting affected people to the best of their ability. We sincerely thank all the kind-hearted individuals who have always supported the various activities of our Vivekananda Community Foundation and continue to provide help to our people even during sudden disasters.
