A Path for Career Guidance
The Vivekananda Community Foundation continues to support social transformation by empowering underprivileged rural families, female-headed households, and students through various initiatives.
As part of this effort, a special seminar was conducted at Amirda, focusing on career guidance for youth and entrepreneurs. The session was led by Dr. Thomas Jeyandiran, a London-based academic with 20 years of experience. He has worked as a senior lecturer at well-known UK colleges such as Writtle College and IOM International Business School. He is also the Director of Optima Foundation-UK and has contributed to social development in Sri Lanka and other countries. Additionally, he has served as a strategic consultant for various organizations.
The seminar explained how to start a business or self-employment. It covered how to develop and apply new ideas, the steps to follow, challenges, and solutions. Participants also learned to analyze opportunities using methods like SWOT and PESTEL. Group activities helped them understand these concepts better, making the session very useful.
Through this program, Entrepreneurs can be identified ang guided towards a clear career path.
