மாணவர்களைச் சிறந்த முறையில் வழிநடத்த ஆசிரியர்களின் தொடர் கற்றல் மிக அவசியமானது. அந்த வகையில், United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia அமைப்பினால் மட்டக்களப்பு ஈஸ்ட் லகூன் ஹோட்டலில் (Hotel East Lagoon) சமூகக் கல்லூரிகளுக்காக ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட மேம்பட்ட ஆசிரியர் புத்தாக்கப் பயிற்சிப் பட்டறையில் (Advanced Faculty Refresher Program) விவேகானந்த தொழில்நுட்பவியல் கல்லூரி (VCOT) ஆசிரியர்கள் பங்கேற்றனர்

மூன்று நாட்கள் நடைபெற்ற இப்பயிற்சியில், மாணவர்களின் உளவியல் நலம் மற்றும் வழிகாட்டல் தொடர்பான பல்வேறு முக்கிய விடயங்கள் பயிற்றுவிக்கப்பட்டன:

-வழிகாட்டல் மாதிரி மற்றும் கூர்ந்து கவனித்தல்: கலாநிதி ஏ. சரினா (Dr. A. Zarina) அவர்களின் வழிகாட்டலில் மாணவர்களைக் கூர்ந்து கவனிக்கும் உளவியல் முறைகள்.

-உள்நோக்கை ஊக்குவித்தல்: கலாநிதி வீணா ஈஸ்வரதாஸ் (Dr. Veena Easvaradoss) அவர்களால் கற்பிக்கப்பட்ட ஆக்கபூர்வமான கலந்துரையாடல் முறைகள்.

-நாடகம் மற்றும் அசைவுகள் மூலமான உள ஆற்றுப்படுத்தல்: கலாநிதி டோரதி வாங் (Dr. Dorothy Wang) மற்றும் கலாநிதி ஃபாய் (Dr. Fai) அவர்களின் நெறிப்படுத்தலில் அமைந்த “Land of Singing Fish” செயல்முறைப் பயிற்சி.

-உளவியல் அதிர்ச்சிகளைக் கையாளுதல்: சவாலான சூழ்நிலைகளில் இருக்கும் மாணவர்களை மீட்டு, வாழ்க்கையில் முன்னேற வழிகாட்டும் வழிமுறைகள்.

Lecturers of Vivekananda College Of Technology Participate in Advanced Faculty Refresher Program

Continuous professional learning is essential for teachers to guide students effectively. In this regard, lecturers from Vivekananda College of Technology (VCOT) participated in the Advanced Faculty Refresher Program organised by the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia for community colleges. The three-day programme was held at Hotel East Lagoon, Batticaloa.

The programme covered several important aspects of student well-being, psychological support, and guidance, including:

• Guidance Models and Observation: Psychological approaches to carefully observing students, facilitated by Dr. A. Zarina.
• Encouraging Self-Reflection: Creative discussion techniques taught by Dr. Veena Easvaradoss to encourage self-reflection and personal development.
• Psychological Support through Drama and Movement: The practical session titled “Land of Singing Fish,” facilitated by Dr. Dorothy Wang and Dr. Fai.
• Addressing Psychological Trauma: Strategies to support students facing challenging circumstances and guide them towards personal growth and a better future.
